Made a visit this afternoon purely on the basis of this thread.
Being fortunate enough to be able to pop down when the park is basically empty the thought of coming along during a half term event isn't high on the list. But having done some chores the little lad and I popped in thinking we could have a zoo walk and see if there were any events on.
A few thoughts: firstly there was pretty little signage. There was an A board by the stage but not a lot else as far as I could see....that being said we didn't traipse too much across the park.
After conslulting the signage our itinerary basically consisted of dodgems, circus performance, reptile house, Rory's show, tamarind trail, dancers & drummers.
All the shows were really good and engaging. Each of them took a bit of time before the crowd warmed to them all, and indeed I think that the actual shows drew the crowds in rather than folks getting ready and waiting for them to start.
Think that there was a bit of planning in the make up of each of the sets, for instance I wondered where the drummer and daners bit was going with the "parade" aspect to start with but I'm guessing it was just to bring the crowds forward.
Fair play as well for the engaging of the kids, be it with the marcarena or the limbo to bringing them in and being part of the experience. Think the weather helped too. They've been blessed this week with the sun playing its part of setting the scene I reckon.
