Their website talks about a brand new Grotto Experience for Magical Christmas. Maybe it's something to do with that?

So it looks like you walk through the entire castle of dreams and then meet Santa in the grotto and then collect a present, mince pie and hot chocolate and looks like there is a reindeer food workshop too

I hope this site gets redeveloped at some point, having such a large space just used for a month every year feels a bit like a waste. If they redeveloped this site they could build a more purpose-fit building for seasonal events as well as building new infrastructure and attractions. Towards the back of the site, they could build a new exhibit for the zoo, maybe even a water based animal like Penguins, Otters or Seals and then also build new attractions like maybe a Zierer Jet Ski or Mack Splash Battle on the site, but I think having something like a coaster on that site would be inappropriate due to the proximity of the zoo.

The castle of dreams entrance archway has now gone. Where I thought there be a photo spot I haven’t got a clue what it is as there’s only 1 door on the side with double doors on the back. The new preshow area been painted and the other buildings as well.

in my opinion that archway needed to go it still had pieces of the Excalibur themeing on it but is has been there since 2002/2003 hasnt it?

It's interesting they're spending/constructing so much for an attraction that's only used for 6-8 weeks a year.

I guess it either makes a shed load of money for them or maybe they have plans to expand it's use throughout the year.

Well it’s £8 per Person for anyone over the age of 1 but if the present is as good as the bear was in 2019 and bubble the years before that with the adults/parents getting hot chocolate and mince pies as well as the show then it could be worth the money.

Yes, we're planning on booking it for this year, a little disappointed it's no longer included but it is what it is.

Looking forward to seeing what changes/what the experience is.

I've always been impressed with the gifts, and I do think the bear in 2019 was probably the best one yet. The book from a few years back was also pretty good.

Is that the book that’s £1 to buy in the gift shop?
