Entrance (plaza)

Thought I'd create a thread for this, as there doesn't seem to be one for the entrance, but I was just wondering if anybody had any pictures of what is in this area of the entrance plaza? I found a few sources online, but they all showed something different in the area.

Really do think they need to update the entrance as it’s in a bad shape in areas.
The pay kiosks could be removed and use the former annual pass office.

I personally would remove the kiosks and put a sort of central piece in
Fountain or something? Not sure.

With the move to online ticket purchasing it is difficult to be able to see how these items would ever be used in their entirity. Its a shame as I do like them and, if they were pristene and open I think they'd make a great atmospheric entrance. But I'm with Elise, there's a chance to do something very different.

If you were buidling a park from scratch you wouldn't have these booths today.

Victoria Lynn said in an interview she didn’t like the 1950’s theme entrance and was in the long term plans to update it as it been 20 years since it was built.

I like the Paultons park entrance where you have a shop and restaurant and so much more appealing. Think it needs investment in this area.

What is it with Drayton and wooden planks?! It seems like every time they need to refresh something this is their solution. It may be the cheapest option, but god it looks ugly.

Just to note the planks run round two sides unlike the old wall.Probably want to rebuild the entrance at some point so no point in redoing it but I do hope they try stop using wood all the time as quite a lot of the park is now wood and there could be a bit more contrast.

Maybe its for the next "five year plan". If it doesn't work with the wood it'll be easier to torch the park and claim on the insurance.

The plaster was coming off the the bricks

Paultons have one of the best entrances and good commercially. They could do something special here if they had the budget perhaps with a shop and decent restaurant. They need to improve this area.

The shop was where the annual pass and rental services is now. It was very rarely used at the end of the day as visitors just wanted to get home. The former Annual pass place could become a ticket collection place. Would love a small fountain show in the centre.

Believe next season the ticket booths will be knocked down as the former annual pass office now has this sign which might suggest that they could be upgrading the entrance area

That would make more sense as 95% of guests pre book before they travel.

The only time I haven't pre-booked is when I have used Tesco clubcard points because for some reason it requires you to use them on the day instead of booking.
