Gold Rush (New for 2024)

As nice as it would be to see a nod back to Klondike, I don't think we are getting that (As the area would have probably been named Klondike somewhere too if that was the case) I feel like Frontier Falls will be taking a new, fresh look at the Cowboy/goldmine theme for Drayton :)

(My thoughts are partly because the park is now under new ownership with looping compared to when it was owned by the Bryans around the time of Klondike)

What if they actually call it the golden Nugget runaway coaster, I know that back sheffifs showdown was called golden Nugget but they could call it the golden Nugget
That was because it was sponsored by the cereal product "Golden nuggets" by Nestlé rather than particuarlaly part of the theme.
Feels a little long for a coaster name - But I do like it
If universal can call a ride The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, I think anything is fair game at this point. :ROFLMAO:

Definitely an anti-climax wasn’t it!
I hate to say it, but yes. It was :(

There is that ^^' Feel like Drayton will go with something a tiny bit shorter than that though

There seems to be a distinct lack of "theming" just lots of painted wood. Which is good as that works but it needs to be complimented with some actual themed pieces. I fear this won't be the case because for the most part, River Rapids and Adventure cove both mainly consist of just painted wood, a very sparse small themed things but nothing major at all. It's a shame because the park used to do so much better.

What?

Can you explain how the park used to do better than it’s currently doing at the moment? I don’t understand the ‘lack’ of theming when the entire area radiates the generic Western theme you’ll find in theme parks. When did the park ever have a better state of theming?

You also mention that there’s no major themed pieces, what exactly are you expecting them to add? It has a station building and a show building, both of which we have no idea what’s going inside of yet and the area isn’t even finished.

For an attraction that hasn’t finished its construction yet, I just don’t understand your comment.

Agree with this as Drayton manor currently have some of the best theming in the UK bar paultons and it still is not finished.Regardless this has lots of effort put in.For example even changing the toilets roof to fit in with the surrounding buildings

Pirate Adventure, Excalbibur, Storm Force 10, Splash Canyon, The Haunting were all themed better, all have animattonics. The rides that remain now have less theming than when they opened. Every single one.

I stand by what I said, the theming was much better back then.

And I stand by the fact that this is not finished. It has not opened yet. We have no idea what kind of theming it contains and we won’t until it’s finished.

But given what we’ve got so far, the only ride that I agree has better theming is the Haunting. Every other attraction isn’t close. Splash Canyon, Pirates, StormForce and Excalibur have very little above what you’ve described as painted walls, aside from barely functioning animatronics that were okay for their time but subpar by modern standards.

I’m only here to see updates for the construction of my home park’s biggest project in decades so I’m just gonna end this discussion here.

They could have just installed a basic station and queue line and opened it last month but look how awful Lego’s new coaster looks. Even that makes our Junior Boomerang look well themed.
I’m gonna go tomorrow afternoon so will take pics.

Of course it is not finished yet. But we have a good idea of the level of theming the park aim for based on the 2 themed areas and revamped rapids ride theyvhave given us.

Objectively speaking, everything installed in the last 4 years is no where near the level of themed entertainment quality that was installed way back when. No suprise really, the companies the park use how for themed entertainment have no where near the people or specialisations of the power houses of the past such as Space and Farmer, with there really ambitious attractions.

You end that conversation there, this is a discussion forum. I am dicussing my oppinion, welcome to the real world, people have oppinions and they won't always match your own. Deal with it. You seem to be borderline aggressively challenging me because my oppinion doesn't match your own.

Anyway, the park have already set the precedent of what we are likely to expect to see, based on previous recent work and even work within the area that has already opened.

Storm Force 10 has one of the best themed queue lines in the country, even today even though it is a shadow of it's former self. There is more 'theming' in that queue alone that what was placed into Adventure Cove and River Rapids. This is the sort of thing I am talking about. River Rapids is basically lots of painted wood, some new music and some painted pipes. It works and it looks good. But it's hardly ground breaking. This is the sort of ambition the park is aiming for, if it works for them go for it. But it's a shadow of what the park were installed decades ago.

I want to understand your opinion because I don’t have it. That’s all. I’m not trying to change your opinion, I don’t share it and I’m challenging you to get you to explain your point in further detail which you now have.

I want to end it because I’m sure the users on this forum would much rather have a notification on their page bringing them to a construction update or name reveal instead of just two users with opposing views getting overly aggressive over something we have zero control over.

I still have faith that the theming for the on-ride experience will surpass anything that is and has been at the park.
