New 2024 tv ad

That was a bit disappointing, thought they would have had a bigger splash for Gold rush. The old adverts were much better! Lets hope they have a seaparate advert for social media for the new ride and start to really hype it now.

Guess they arent posting much of Gold Rush yet as all they have is the testing videos (May have been better to wait til that was open )

The parks vision of Family Fun is really clear in the advert though which is nice to see.

But, main question I have. Where's Rory and Lory? Surely they should be in this?

Very odd not seeing them promote Gold Rush, but even if it was still mentioned, am I the only one who's noticed the drop in quality of their adverts? The latest ones can be explained in a single sentence, zoom-in shots while on a Dutch angle with some cheap music in the background. Is this really the best they can come up with?

Remember when the adverts had quality to them. Of course, there were some terrible ones back then too, but they weren't as numerous as now. The Hauntings advert was always my favourite of theirs. The quality and the production for it is just unseen nowadays for adverts. I don't think this helps that I'm seeing this through my own lens as someone who did Media and Filmmaking as a course for a couple of years in college.

Another great advert was Apocalypses and Pandemonium, the latter being a very weird one, but in a good way.

The 2008 advert was a really good one too, a very good choice with the music as well.

I hope one day the quality these adverts had will return in some form.

It must be hard t justify the cost for advert production when television audiences are so much smaller.
I wonder how this may play on static boards without sound.

The advert captures the Family fun and memory making focus that the park has now.
Its more beneficial to appeal to the entire target audience than a single group (e.g those who like Thomas or those who want to ride Gold Rush)
As much as I like the older adverts, I feel like they changed their aim on this one - promote everything over the new additions as the new additions have been advertising themselves (and have had smaller marketing boosts too)

Its ideal for Youtube, TV and all other streaming services too which include adverts :)
Theres most likely a radio/spotify advert somewhere (But I don't use either)

Totally agree. I think that Gold Rush should be the big draw. I suspect social media will be the main source but why lower the quality. They need to start marketing better than this.

I'm not sure this will appeal to many. It is low budget and misses its aim. It should have been heavily focussed on the new coaster, with references to the wave as this will be the main draw. I think they need a new marketing team as this looks like it was done by an apprentice. The focus should be family and family thrill not just children. This will not attract teenagers in my view. Poorest advert for a long time. The park has been quieter this year and this needed to attract people with the bad weather. Think they have missed the mark.

They would have been better to have had a marketing campaign for each target demographic.

I do think it’s misleading because at the end it says 2 new family coasters. Now whilst I know the wave is technically a new car to allow families to ride , I wouldn’t class this as new. I would class it as reimagined. I do think the characters should have been on it , to me it feels like a high school student has put the video together along with the al marketing pictures.

Whilst I think it’s great Drayton are finally doing marketing, I do think they should be going for quality over quantity especially to show the high quality of the park.
