Safari Pizza and Pasta 2021

Visited Safari Pizza and pasta today. It’s had a bit of a refresh but all the theming is still present inside.

There is a new counter right at the front for ordering and new menu.

I was a bit disappointed the meal deals are gone but the new full size pizzas they do are great. A bit pricey but not unreasonable.

The hatch at the side which used to be AJs ice cream is now in use again selling ice cream , pop corn and candy floss.

The park is also now selling Coca Cola products rather than Pepsi :)

That pizza looks so, so, so much better than it used to.
 
Oh I'm glad to see that its open. Was in the park yesterday and it was shut when we walked past - but thinking about it we were really early and I just presumed it was still going to be closed.

I've always enjoyed the fayre offered here. Will factor in a visit on future trips.

The pizza looks so much better than it used to, do they still have the same menu or have they changed it and added new things on to it?

Completely new menu, pizzas are full size (12”) rather than the single serving ones you used to get. They bow have coleslaw, garlic bread and salad as optional sides.

they also serve alcohol too.

Yes you choose and pay and they give you an order number which you collect from the kitchen. There is a new serving hatch at the entrance to where you used to go in and order food at the back. It was pretty quick too, I think we were only waiting about 5 minutes from ordering to getting our pizzas.

They’ve had a complete kitchen re-fit.

I don‘t know sorry. I should have asked while I was there.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t though, the whole restaurant looks in good shape given it was flooded last year. All the animal animatronics are still there, they even had the ambient rainforest music playing in the background (the one that used to play between the lightning), so I think it’s hopeful.

It be good to see again as I can’t remember the last time it was used. The parrots are the only thing left on park from the Jungle Palladium. The elephant was from the Jungle cruise. The rest was made by Space Leisure.

The elephants from Jungle Cruise were the elephants placed outside by the zoo entrance, which were removed around the time Meerkat Manor opened (I think?) when the park and zoo had a big rebrand. The one inside was added in 2002 specifically for the restaurant when Rainforest Pizza first opened. You're right to say that all were designed by Space Leisure though. That model was also used in Belgium when Space Leisure did the theming for Bengal rapid river. Same elephant design and same ear/trunk/eye movements. Cool stuff :)
