Themed Uniform

With all of these new investments, I'm still a bit surprised there's been no attempts at themed uniform yet for the rides staff. Personally I think it'd be great and really add to the atmosphere on each ride! Like imagine the operators on Sherrif showdown having a uniform of a miner, with the helmet, etc. Something like that could work well for Barrels and Gold Rush too! Maybe with Haunting they could give them government esc jackets with the logo on? That'd be pretty cool!

Personally I think Stormforce 10 would benefit from themed uniforms. Nothing drastic, but if staff members wore those yellow coats fisherman used to wear along with those hats, I think it would add a lot to an already heavily themed water ride.

That's a really nice idea but would the park want to invest in certain rides and not others but Id love to see that one way or the other.love too see Thor and the bounty

I get the idea of the park wanting the staff to look the same & be easily identifiable to guests but I agree, would be nice to see some themed uniform for rides down the line.

The staff at the launch night of GoldRush for example - they looked awesome with their cowboy inspired looks. Really adds to that immersion of the really well themed areas.

They could even be "area themed" outfits - so FrontierFalls could all be cowboy styled etc.

Doesn't need to be extravagant, subtle works in this.

It becomes hard to move staff around. I think the Drayton ride ops do change rides during the day, so adding costume changes makes things more inefficient.

If nothing else, they should get them all looking the same - there’s quite a few variants going on across the staff at the moment.

This is true especially if a ride op works in multiple park areas e.g vikings and adventure cove.

I agree there are a few variations on the uniform at the moment - noticed a few different styles around.
Options are good for comfort but they probably all need to have some similarity

(Meanwhile. I get asked if I work at the park when wearing my DraytonTalk stuff )

I love the idea but ride operators don't always stay on the same rides, so they would likely need to have one of every uniform depending on which ride they would be working on throughout the day.

I think sizing is the issue as much as anything. The difference between our friendliest ride op (Shes only a dot!) and some of the others is off the scale. It would suit some areas better than others though, I like the idea of souwesters on stormforce 10.

I wonder if the cafe and the exit to the haunting will be turned into a saloon with a small stage with live entertainment.

There is also the cost element to consider, the cost of having special uniform for Frontier falls may be too high if you want to have staff working in more than one area. There will also be the argument, why not in Vikings also. At most they could possibly have a greeter on the ride and keep it cost effective. At the end of the day customers have to pay for the uniforms so it would result in higher park prices. Whilst themed uniforms would be good, I think it will come down to money and profits at the end of the day.

Would love the saloon to be buffalo bills with a nod to the past as they have seem to have done with Gold Rush!

Another problem with themed uniforms is the pressure it would place on the ride operator to become a performer to some extent. Imagine every other customer coming up to you and saying "howdy pardner!" or "ride em cowboy" and having to respond in kind, and then not knowing what to say (believe me, I am one of life's introverts and my mind goes blank in these scenarios!) And even worse, when all that's in my repertoire is "please take your glasses off", "sit the smallest child on the inside seat" and so on, the awkwardness would be mortifying to me. I have such admiration for the performers, it's a hard job, and the interaction is another layer on top.

When vikings opened they did have staff in the black "Discover Vikings" Tee, but that wasn't really themed. Listening to some staff conversations today though, the ride hosts seemed to be doing a lot of travelling across the park, Themed uniforms would end up in teh wrong places very quickly.
