[2023 Event] The Haunted Manor

One thing to note is that there are two upcharge experiences (at a very reasonable £3 per person with passholders also eligible for a discount here.) - The Haunted Express and Castle of Shadows :)

The Haunting is a great one to use for an event like this definitely one we look forward to experiencing thats for sure

And don't forget the daytime;

Personally I'm a little disappointed. We love Drayton Manor fireworks & is one of the main reasons we buy the Annual passes. (I may be wrong) but I'm guessing as a pass holder we have to pay extra for each night of this event that include fireworks. My children also don't like anything that can be seen as slightly scary (they're okay with daytime things they have on) but there's no way they'd want to go to the event with the extra scares. It would've been nice if they'd thought about an evening for young families that included fireworks.

I expect my opinion to be unpopular on this forum but paying extra for an event that has always been included in the annual passes seems unfair.

The event is free for passholders (Gold/Plat):)
Passholders however do get a discount on the scare experiences.

I also would assume most scare zones can be avoided in some way

Never know, they may do another fireworks event too for this year (just personal thought that one)

My apologies on that case. Probably should've read the t&c's first before jumping in with both feet!

They will Tey to avoid the scarezones but I can't promise I'll keep out of them!

There's a lot of info on the website ✓ (I only took the Facebook info for the update here as I was on a bad train WiFi signal so couldn't get onto the site )

There is also a set of daytime activities within ThomasLand and around the park :) can't wait to find out which costume Rory plans to wear for it!

I think they will do a main fireworks night on the 3rd, 4th and maybe 5th November as it’s October Half term that week so can see the main season ending on the 5th November

The event so far looks the worst it’s ever has

We visited yesterday & had a lovely day. Kids loved the trail & meeting Sir Toppham Hat. The decorations are nice but could probably do with adding more.

We did the trick or treat trail. Whilst nice at £5 per person I felt it could've been more. We have the buckets but annoyingly you can't reuse them as they make you pay again for the leaflet that gets ticked off. Surely they should offer a discount to do it again if you visit more than once. There must be many annual pass holders that want to do that?

How many sweets did you get in the tub?

How many sweets did you get in the tub?
Some places were about 6 swizzels sweets, others allowed you to take a handful (something my kids too full advantage of!!!). There were 5 stops in total

Sweet Shop
Sodor Sweet Shop
Mrs Kyndley's
Thomas Land Shop
Sodor Airport Cafe

Stopped in today to check out some of the activities - no shows today (but nothing advertising that they weren't happening which caused some guest confusion) however we did the hay bale trail and trick or treat trails

Trick or treat- £5 (but you can use annual pass discount).
You get to choose an adorable bucket and then make your way to 5 stops around the park where you are able to collect treats. As mentioned above the majority give you 6 sweets. It was very lovely to do however I didnt see many doing this as it wasn't greatly advertised. Lots of fun even for us older kids.

(Pretty good value too when you compare the price of the swizzels bags in the sweet shop)

Hay Bale Trail - Collect your sheet from guest services. Follow the trail to find the adorable hay bales (unfortunately one was a bit damaged when we found them) and collect your reward from the toy shop. They provided a pencil this time (no pencil when we did Viking festival)

It's a lovely event with lots of pumpkins - shame about no entertainment today but with it being midweek (and very quiet) it makes sense. But wish they'd have advertised it as a few people were confused waiting.
