I think part of the lake area is been planned to be used for the Zoo extension with the Lemur walkthrough going round the back of the castle of dreams building.

They should really at least start clearing all the Excalibur theming!
I think you're right here, on the plans you can see that the left hand side Lemur House will touch Dragon Manor, which means more lake space will likely be filled and the zoo expanded backwards. It's useless space currently so I welcome it.
I don't think there's a need, from what I saw over Christmas it's all way beyond repair on the lake, and it'd cost a lot to get a boat out to them, they'd be better to just hide the view back on the Excalibur lake with more posters at the back of the turntable, and raise the exit fences next to the Reptile House.

could they update the system to a tracked rather than trackless as this will cause less technical difficulties therefore meaning the ride may still be able to reopen as draytons 2020 family ride
I guess they could, but ultimately I suspect they make too much of using it as the castle of dreams for Santa visits. It's interesting they used a pulley system for excalibur, given it's a natural lake and not clean treated water I'm amazed it worked at all.

It will never be a ride again but there’s nothing stopping them using it for Easter,Halloween and Christmas.
would be good to utilize the space for halloween events; imagine a small halloween walkthrough sort of thing there

i'm so tempted to ask some of the Drayton staff if I can have some of the Excalibur theming that's been left because it's otherwise:
1.) Going in the scrap
2.) Rotting there for a decade
3.) Being given to Theme Park Worldwide

Given Drayton have so many bits of old rides. It would be great if they had a little museum on site.

I think the bits that’s left on the lake is there cause to remove them they got to drain the lake. All the knights were put into the castle of dreams.

And I think when I was last there, they had that wheelbarrow near the entrance of the park

I can't remember whereabouts it was, however I asked one of the staff members and they told me the wheelbarrow came from Excalibur so I only know it came from the ride!

I do remember theming in front of the ride with stores so they could have been out there.
