It looks to me like they are diverting the James red balloon queue to go back towards so far airport way rather than normal exit as this was fenced off.

This morning Thomas and Percy's Submarine Splash is proving to be incredibly popular with queues out the door!
We stopped by and took a few photos which can be found below!
We will try and pop over again later to get some more when the queue goes down a bit.
It's looking great with plenty of smiling faces coming off!

Glad to hear it's been proving popular even with the initial teething troubles; from all I've seen so far, it looks like a lovely little starter ride for the youngest fans with a surprisingly decent amount of theming [even with the nail gunned vinyl haha]!
Very curious if the rumours about Harold apparently still needing to be installed are true (someone on TowersStreet seemingly confirmed that might be the plan), but have been pleasently surprised by the amount of theming put into here; did not expect a full-scale AEG Thomas here or proper tracks for him and Percy!

We thought it was a great addition to Thomas Land. Kids absolutely loved it & now say it's their favourite ride in the area.
My only concerns are the throughput of this attraction. 6 boats, holding a maximum of 2 & it doesn't travel fast (especially with myself, heavy bag & 5 yo in a boat). Queues were obviously going to be massive this weekend but I do fear the summer holidays!

Oh, that's a thought.
That was my concern too
I was watching it today and a few boats would catch eachother up and then move really slowly after that.
It's cute but definitely will lead to some larger queues expecially on a hot day or the holidays.

Not been good today. Lots of arguments now u can't use an exit pass on submarine splash and they apparently sent a letter out on Friday about only using it on the opening day even though you could use it yesterday. There was a 2 year old kid so excited in the exit pass quee and he and his dad got told to leave.its not right and people were on about sueing the park for it

Wow. By exit pass, do you mean fast pass? If so I think that's really bad. I bet some people with children only bought the fast pass specifically so they could skip queue's on this ride. I feel like they should at least offer them a refund for it if anyone did buy it, but if they don't legally have to (they don't) then they won't give one to people.

You also can't use annual pass on it Ethier so it was a joke and I was in the main quee for half an hour but was still going to be 2 hours so

It is great when it comes to the new look of mathwaite but from what I saw u can't accses James no more as the new exit goes round back but I don't know but I think u can get on from submarine splash but kids were claiming kicking scratching tresspassing all over James
They’ve removed the steps from James so you can’t get up there any more however we saw children climbing up regardless. Such a shame as it was such a lovely thing for the kids to be able to do.

I think it might be a temporary thing with James as the queue (from what I remember) is just the extended queue line. I think more/better queuing will be added into the queue once you go through the door, but they were quite rightly expecting it to be very busy this weekend. When the hype dies down, I'd expect it to be more open again and hopefully we'll see James accessible again
