We were there that day too & had to look twice as I couldn't believe it was so graphic! Really shouldn't be allowed in

Been this afternoon - great buzz with the mix of Halloween and the nice weather.
Still a few rides closed - Dodgems, Winston, the Haunting and some others on staggered opening (Rapids were open for a bit, then closed and Stormforce 10 opened) but had signage up telling people what time things would open. Still less than ideal though!
Halloween show in the 4D cinema was Ok - although basically the same Summer/Vikings show that had been on the outside stage, but did use a few effects like water squirt and chair moving.
There’s a trick or treat trail where you need to spend £5 on a bucket. I’m intrigued how many sweets you get as part of that as looked like 6! Anyone done it?
There’s been more landscaping in the new coaster site which might give some ideas about layout - best view is at the top of Accelerator and Drunken Barrels has now been fully clad in wood to match the toilet block.

They could be programming the ride/up grading for the new Halloween story line.
Closed temporarily e.g maintenance, staffing, other reasons (such as seasonal upgrades / overlay)

The Haunting is having a seasonal experience for hth Night at the Manor event, so in all likeliness it is closed to facilitate preparations for that.

The park would be empty today and even 20 years ago Drayton would rotate rides when it wasn’t busy

Ah ok.
But the issue is they're rotating rides at weekends too, especially during their Halloween event! It is poor form & makes the park look quite bad!

That’s down to staffing issues like now Drunken Barrels is closed for the season and Haunting been worked on for the Halloween event Sheriff showdown is open all the time now. There isn’t enough staff trained to operate river rapids and Storm force 10 so River rapids open in the mornings then all staff go for lunch then return and operate storm force to the end of the day.
Although clearly they haven’t got enough staff or enough staff trained on multiple rides, I would say the operation is partly true but I wouldn’t say this is the only way they are operating them. Every time we have been, they have never bothered to open the rapids and have chosen storm force every time .

It needs to be more clearly marked if thats the case.
I am not convinced it is staffing - unless by staffing is that they are not intending to staff the park the way it was before.
On my trips to WMSP it seemed to be a policy on the park that only half the rides will be open at anyone time.
It needs to be sorted out, or else we will have one or two new rides next year and the park will have to close two others to staff them.

Is all of this because of staffing problems?
It might be that but also it will be to maintain rides and attractions ready for the Christmas season/event as there will only be a short period of time between Halloween/fireworks and Christmas where they can get everything ready and maintained so it will be easier to do it on an off peak day as a pose to rushing it quickly
