It might be that but also it will be to maintain rides and attractions ready for the Christmas season/event as there will only be a short period of time between Halloween/fireworks and Christmas where they can get everything ready and maintained so it will be easier to do it on an off peak day as a pose to rushing it quickly
Oh ye. Didn't think of that

Is all of this because of staffing problems?

It was when the park was open every day during the main season and cause it was that dead 1 member of staff would operate 2 flat rides. Even Shockwave did 4 laps of it in a row without getting off and only had to move seats once when someone was queuing for the front row. The following year they decided to close 2 days a week and it’s been like that ever since.

Yesterday whilst walking through the queue line for accelerator, even though it was dead and was walk on a large group of kids decided to push past me and my son as we was walking through the zig zag bit. I confronted them and told them that we was first in the line and that they couldn’t push past and was met with the response “we can do what we want there’s nothing you can do”. The ride Op was amazing and when he was getting ready to let passengers onto the train, he kicked each and everyone of them out through the easy access line and told them they would not be permitted to ride. Needless to say the look on the lads faces was priceless as my lad got to enjoy his experience on accelerator without feeling bullied. We was very grateful to see that it was taken seriously despite it being walk on.

Glad you and your son got to ride without any further bother. I seriously don't understand what people gain out of queue jumping, all you get is an angry mob of people and a telling off by the staff, like what is the point?

Well done for taking them to task and well done to the ride op for taking a stand too.

I think the park should make it be known how it will treat queue jumpers (and place holders) and encourage people to raise it. I think that most folks would really welcome this, a reputuation for being a "fairly run park" is just as strong as a "family friendly park"

Once I was there and two girls pushed us while I was quing up for harolds heli-tours a worker saw this and said they can't go on

Tbh, if someone pushes in, I just push back infront and shove the thrm
I don’t blame you but the trouble is it can be quite intimidating facing a large group and also people can be quite unpredictable . The hospital have told me that my lad may be on the spectrum due to on going issues and so I have to avoid situations as it causes him distress. But I applaud you for taking a stand. No one should have to feel bullied and have their day ruined. It
Makes me angry that people think they have a right to do what they please at the expense of others. However a lot of people lack manners these days and even common decency.

I can understand kids and family trying to jump the queue when it is busy but on Saturday it was that quiet they let us go round twice on Accelerator as no one was in the queue and ask everyone to get up so the guests who was queuing could pick there seats and I could have got on a 3rd time but my son wanted to go on Troublesome trunks.

I’m Autistic and I’ve got ADHD. I don’t like a big group of people, but. If they are intimidating I will just push back in. My ADHD makes me want to do more so.

It shouldn't be up to guests to deal with this. The park can make the challenging "approved" and the jumping "not approved" and everyones experience will be better as a result.

Its going to be a bigger issue if we are going to have rides only operating at certain times, queues forming outside the rapids without the formality of the line just invtes the cheeky to "walk-up"

Similarly there needs to be clarity on place-holding. Because folks claiming they are joining others in the queue can just go onwards.

Conversely if you are going to be family friendly you need to have a policy whihc deals with sudden needs to go to the toilet on behalf of a 3 year old who has queued for 50 minutes in earshot of the submarine splash!

I’m not too sure where the best thread is to ask this as I’ve lost count with how many Thomas threads their seems to be however are their any Thomas train lovers who can recommend places to buy toy trains from ? My local smyths never seem to have a good supply.
