2025: General Discussion

Drayton need to start thinking of getting higher capacity rides , most of their offering is like 150-200, per hour.. it’s great to see the park busy but constant huge queues will damage the park in the long run
Hoping Ops and Availability do improve, Accelerator and Troublesome trucks can be explained why there not running, Thor however looks like its days from opening maybe in the next 2 wks.

As for higher capacity they can start by getting a second train on the Wave

I have to agree with The Wave, not had chance to hit it since its opened due to 90+ min ques 😬

The website has marked the 24 - 26 April as expected busy day. I am wondering that given it is the end of the school holiday, that they are going to make it free admission for those three days. Otherwise, they would have to make it something major.

It could be that date.
There is also the "Secret" event over that window too
Me and Sam will be around on the 26th as we are curious to what this secret event is (However I will be honest, I am not as keen about going with that "Expected busy day" sticker on the day now....) - I hope it is something more than just a free-entry date set as we won't be around for long on the day if it is.

Could be three different reasons off the top of my head - it doesn't really make me want to visit though... I was going to pop in for the Saturday but its a little offputting with no reasons for it at the moment.

If it is a big event, I would have expected them to be promoting it better, so this is making me think maybe flash sale where all tickets will be free, or limited number say 2500 each day, which will will increase capacity. If they are making it free, people who have already paid will be complaining. Won't be attending whatever it is as already have other plans. Oh and working the Thursday and Friday. I have a feeling we will all be disappointed when it is announced. Must be coming soon. Could it be Ed Sheeran, Adele and Taylor swift headlining each days acts, original acts not tribute acts. Probably bigger chance of pirate adventure re-opening lol

What should Drayton add next to the park lineup that would make it better
If it was down to me, I would do the pirate cove in say three phases. Phase 1 revitalise the pirate cove area, replace the dodgems with a new set as they are approaching end of life, tidy up the area, phase two re-open the pirate adventure with a new themed story and then phase three, relocate the fun foods, there are various booths that could relace this especially in frontier falls and build a new roller coaster here as phase three. Interacting with the water as a pirate ride with near misses with water would be great in my view. This would leave the park with 5 lands with a roller coaster in each and various flat rides.

That’s a brilliant idea, the rollercoaster in the Excalibur water?

Was at the park today. Was busy but not heaving.
Jesus the park needs to work on operations. The best PPH was on accelerator of all things! If your boomerang is getting the best throughput you know things are going wrong (shoutout Jake for mad Ops!)

We were stacked on gold rush for 7 mins and this was typical. And why the hell were they not even batching at the air gates until the train has emptied.
Train arrives - restraints up - last person leaves the station.
Air gates are filled.
At this point finally they load the train.
Madness.

Thor was 8-10 mins between cycles.

The Wave 15 mins between cycles (and two rows out)

We had a good day regardless (Maelstrom ops were good) doing smaller attractions but for a park with aspirations they need to get professional and fast.

Even though ops are poor at Drayton, Drayton Manor is still a fantastic park and I am really excited for its future to see what it adds next, hopefully ops can be better with time. The more attractions it gets the more capacity the park gets

This is true. It’s my local park and been going since the 90’s and it’s better then it’s been for a long time. But the ride Ops .. Jesus.
