Flying Dutchman

They strip it down yearly but never to this extent. This is definitely on the move, and assembly to Vikings. New flat here for 2025?

It would make most sense in Vikings
A new Frontier themed ride would work here for sure - Im thinking those little classic cars but in wagon themes...

something like detonator at thorpe park?

I do think that tombstone does mean that they do miss Apocalypse at the park and they got plans to install a sit down drop tower. Like Venom at WMSP a complete round version of that would be good for the park.

There are height restrictions so it will need to be considerably smaller to come under the permitted planning rules for theme parks. There is no current planning application so would need to be considerably smaller than apoloclypse. I think it may be a family drop tower of sorts. Or what about fire and ice at Legoland. A spinning element without being overly thrilling and fitting in with family thrill?

I think the memorial is more because they knew how iconic it was for the fans :)

As cool as it would be, I'm not too sure on this idea of a new smaller tower personally (Don't forget, Cranky still exists)

Plans like the 5 year plan are never fully set in stone, more like a set of guidelines :)
They may or may not happen and can change too.

It'll likely be put back up after the half term event / be back in reconstruction stages at this time :)

The carousel was in a similar state 2 years ago for full strip down maintenance

yeah about that.......

its been taken off the website with the only trace being that it's closed for winter maintenance, it won't open with the park on the 29th march which if you ask me they are 100% taking it down without any closure announcement

Not true :)
It is on the rides & attractions page and can be found here too - https://www.draytonmanor.co.uk/attraction-details/flying-dutchman With a reopening date of March.

Dutchman will fly for another day!

I can confirm the ride is not going anywhere. It’s had a operates booth installed but it still in pieces

May have changed plans and may keep it there as theres no point moving such a old ride system. There probably retheme it for now or leave it to later in the season to do. Or might be installing a new ride and it hasn't arrived yet so doing what they can at the moment.

I personally think there is no new rides for 2025 but we could be seeing a new restaurant in the Frontier falls area in the former cafe and maybe a new storyline for the haunting.
