What's new

The Wave (formerly known as Shockwave)

Shockwave wasn't a fast loader either the problem is when this was installed the park was quieter also. With a height restriction of 1.2m opens up for more people to ride they desperately need to improve ops and get a 2nd train for the Wave

Shockwave loaded way faster than this train though. We used to get dispatches out every two and half minutes on Shockwave, sometimes 3 and a half, which is slow in itself, but I am yet to see The Wave dispatch a train quicker than 5 minutes, which is ridiculous for a headline attraction.

Shockwaves loading was rapid compared to the Wave, plus there is only a single train, even though they would stack, horribly, they could be loading next batch of guests while the current train completes the circuit.

I don't know why there so slow maybe going back to manufacturer to see if it can be sped up might be ideal

I’m gonna stand by it, when i visited on the 13th at about 4:30 (despite row three being out) the dispatches were every 2-3ish mins and the queue was about 30mins from a few steps down from the top floor. I didn’t think ops were as horrendous as people say but could’ve been lucky with the operators.

Fast forward to back in Shockwave days with two trains, queue around 7 minutes from the same point. Its horrendous. Im sorry, but it is.

Its the worst throughput on any large coaster in the UK..fact.

I would say Flamingo Land has worse ops than Drayton. Those queues can be slow, Fantasy Island as well.

But Wave is slow hopefully they can figure out a way to speed things up and Unload and Onload platform works be good with 2 trains you could have it setup like Rita.

I just don't think Drayton is setup with dealing with large crowds, as Drayton has grown the rides capacities have remained the same

I only managed to ride it once with my daughter and Nephew as his also got an Easy Access pass so only had to queue 15 mins. My Daughter waited nearly 90 mins on the opening day of the season. My son currently 1.14 so I think it will be next year when I manage to get on it again unless I go with just my daughter and wait.

Overall the worst ops yeah I agree. In terms of a specific ride though, what ive been talking about here, the Wave wins, hands down.

Its a shame, because the ride itself is great and a big improvement.
