Apocalypse

Would love for them to replace it with Vemon at West Midlands Safari Park it May not be as high but it’s more forceful drop.
Wouldn’t be much point in replacing Apocalypse with another drop tower. I feel if they made the decision to remove Apocalypse then they wouldn’t be putting another similar ride in its place.

As for the rumours about it’s removal, well it was also rumoured last year that it would be removed in 2020 but look how that turned out. I can see it being removed personally since it’s all over 20 years old and is extremely expensive to run and maintain. Combining the space of Apocalypse, Test Track and maybe Pandemonium since that seems to be up for sale then you have a fairly large site for an investment.

Damn! I'm hearing a lot of removals and nothing new again. This has me really worried.

Imagine being a customer and looking at coming to Drayton Manor and all you see is lots of removals yet nothing new. Many would be going is it worth the price? Nothing new for many many years now. It doesn't look particular good it has to be said.

That been said if Apocalypse and Pandemonium are going then it's a large space to fill with something potentially interesting.

Well if thats the case then that will only leave shockwave as the only other 1.4m tall attraction in the park.
I doubt it will be a thrill coaster at that end of the park as that’s been the problem with the locals with guests screaming that’s why they have the notice up on Pandemonium and the parks enterprise was removed.
Drunken Barrels only got built on the same site cause they put it in a building.

I think people need to give Looping time to get their heads around what Drayton is and then plan the way forward, stuff like this doesn't happen over night. It will take a year or 2 for Looping to really put their mark on the park, especially when so much is restricted with the pandemic. I order to invest, they need to remove stuff that no longer fits the target demographic, which is families, not enthusiasts...

The pictures are of Golden Driller at Fraispertuis City in France, which is pretty similar in spec but not exact to Apocalypse. This made me think a little. I thought maybe it was Golden Driller due to a small accident the park had with the ride last year and thought they'd put the ride up for sale. Then I reached out to some contacts who said they are all sure it's Apocalypse sadly. I've also reached out to Interlink, nothing as of yet but I did see this on twitter.

Obviously it's not 100% guaranteed until the park announce the rides closure but it is looking to be correct.

it will be a shame to see this ride go i used to go on it like 10 times in a day when visiting the park

I think with both sit down sides out of action at the end of last season and 1 stand up with the COVID rules still in place this year it was mainly operating with just 2 guests only on each cycle.
