The Haunting

The Library Wall lights are back!! Wow, it's really improved the scene now! There's so much detail in the Library a lot of people miss out on, so it's nice that people can actually see it now!

They are all on, but they flicker off as the room goes into darkness and as the portrait comes to life, 2 are left on with each on the side walls, when the boxes show, they cut out and come back on later, and all the lights go off when the lady screams! It really does enhance the scene and makes the ride overall feel more eerie.

Yes I was very impressed with the effects in the library. A few people jumped when the smoke blasted out from between the floor boards and in front.

THe library does seem to have a lot more ambience this year for want of a better word, some really nice little changes that boost the experience.

Absolutely. I don't think those lights have been used since 2016 when they did the Refurbishment, a whopping 8 years!

Sadly I still have a few gripes with the library outside of no Animatronic head. It's the fake grime and cobwebs that make it look really generic and a bit cheap. I do like the grimes in the cellar corridor though.

I think it looked great when it was clean, very uncanny personally, especially with the original portrait. There's just something so eerie about that I cant really explain. It feels a lot bigger as well, and I think that's because of the lack of cobwebs they added in 2016.

I wish the lightning under the floors were more numerous and rapid like how they used to be. It feels a bit uneventful when the floor moves with the current lights now, just not as lively. I feel like even just removing the fake cheap cobwebs would greatly make the library feel a lot grander than it currently is.

Nipped down for 2 hours today and got a ride on the haunting there was a lot of queue jumping someone notified the host and the people were escorted to the exit, the wall lights in the library really do make a difference wow felt like a new experience going in there really adds to it and the portrait was a lot brighter because of them which was really nice always nice to see Nicholas Beales!, just a little minor moan is that the wood is rotting on the trailer and you could see where they’ve painted the trailer black and the grey was poking out slightly

I am sure we are all familiar with the headless statues found in the hauntings queue. But did you know that the head can be found in the fork of the yew tree to the right below the signs? I spotted this the other day at fiestaval, and thought I'd post it.

A close up of the head is below

little man surprised us by wanting to go on the haunting at 3.30 today. When we joined the queue we only ended up waiting half an hour which surprised me for the time of day.

I must say we had the best experience ever with the ride hosts that was running the attraction. A very big Thankyou to Philip and the young lady along side him (wasn’t able to catch her name).

They did a fantastic job at engaging all the people and keeping them entertained throughout really taking on the role of investigator.

The effort both ride hosts put into the narrative of the story and acting along side of it really made it the best experience we have ever had. If only these two people could run it all the time. Management would really be onto a winner.

Just noticed that the weeds are growing all over the the small entrance area, could do with a clean up.Also has some new paint been added the wall's look's a lot better

I think that burnt look has always been there since the 2016 change. I'd love the park to revert it back to its more algae/less striking look to coexist with the walls in the garden which are still in their original 1996 condition. You can see the original paint in these pictures below.

Here's a cool photo of the original Vicar Head bring used for Halloween back in 2004 just where the current sign on the main street is, also showing the original paint on the walls. Notice the tiny bits of fake Algae. Lots of lovely details!

Which part of the wall has been repainted again sorry? I'm struggling to see a different between the photos.
